Playing experience
I’ve been involved in drumming since the age of 16, studying with my father at Cool as Funk Drum School for around 8 years (once a week), this gave me a great grounding of many different styles of drumming and music in general.
After forming a progressive rock band  and traveling around various venues, I was looking for a new musical challenge, I was informed a local brass band were in need of a drummer, I mainly wanted experience sight reading pieces of music and to play in different musical situations at this time, so a brass band seemed a good choice …a couple of years later I moved to Northumberland and met some of the members from Jayess and decided to go along to a rehearsal, I was impressed with the bands friendly attitude and musicality, I’m involved with numerous musical projects but value the reading challenges I get from playing with Jayess on a weekly basis,  I’m also currently studying Tuned percussion and Timpani as  secondary instruments to drum kit to which I can use within Jayess.
Favourite piece
My favourite piece is ‘On The Track’ originally written by Jack Simpson , It is a xylophone solo which I have been working on in my spare time.
