DCBBA Festival of Brass 2019 02/03/2019 Sunday 3rd February saw Jayess compete in their first contest of the new year, at a contest that has brought much success and silverware over the years and today was no exception. Our test piece, Viking Age by Thierry Deleruyelle was a relatively 'unknown' choice and the band have thoroughly enjoyed preparing it for today's contest. We hope the copious audience enjoyed listening to it as much as we enjoyed rehearsing it. The contest once again saw us competing against some tough competition

Aviva Community Fund 10/26/2018 Once again, Jayess Newbiggin have entered into the Aviva Community Fund with the hopes of winning £1000 for repairs to instruments. In addition to this we also hope to use the money to purchase new equipment for the band. Last year, we ran a very successful campaign which amassed enough votes to make it to the final judging stage. Although we were not awarded the funding we still received a £500 donation which helped us raise enough money to buy a new set of uniforms. This year, we hope to go

New Uniforms 08/27/2018 In August we were fortunate enough to be invited to perform at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea's Church Centre for their Newbiggin colliery exhibition. A thought-provoking and informative event which led to some happy reminiscing from many of our members! The event also saw us perform in our new uniforms for the first time. Without some dedicated fundraising over the past 12 months this would not have been possible, so the band are very happy to once again extend their thanks and gratitude to all who
